Tessa's Clause was created in honor of a young dog who suffered fear-related aggression and was euthanized after failing temperament tests when she was returned to a shelter. It honors all dogs who find themselves in shelters because of problem behaviors that either were undiagnosed or misunderstood. Tessa's Clause was created exclusively by My Best Friend Dog Training, LLC and is the only clause of its kind in the United States under this name.

Since aggressive dogs often have more than one form of aggressive behavior or underlying fear, it's our goal to provide an avenue of free open discussion regarding your dog's progress and experiences before and in between trainings so we may help uncover undetected behaviors or discuss the ones it already has. Tessa's Clause provides an avenue of criticism-free open discussion for clients and the general public to release their frustrations, fear, concerns and ask questions. It is an invaluable tool to help owners cope.

Having unfettered access to a professional trainer with experience in these issues and who can offer expert advice and guidance can help to reduce stress and dramatically improve the human-dog relationship.

Additionally, many aggressive behaviors are symptomatic of underlying medically-related issues that may have gone undiagnosed by the most experienced veterinarians. Some may include Springer Rage (rage-syndrome) epilepsy, neurological disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorders and more. We maintain professional relationships with some of the most experienced veterinarian behaviorists in the nation (and world) and can refer you to such professionals if your case is extremely complex.
